Reasons Buhari replaces Ex-Rivers Governorship aspirant with Northerner as DG NIMASA

It's no more news that President Muhammadu Buhari has replaced Rivers state-born politician Adolphus Dakuku Peterside with another Northerner in the federal government agency NIMASA( Nigerian Maritime Administration and safety agency).


This has sparked up a lot of dust from all corners of the country because Nigeria has realized the President's penchant for northern appointments in federal agencies or departments.
Dakuku Adol Peterside is the All Progressive Congress gubernatorial aspirant in the election that brought in Wike, the present Governor of Rivers state in his first term. To compensate him for his hard fight and money utilized to run in the election that he lost to Wine.
However, it's been over 4 years and it seems all about his appointment in the agency has been fulfilled. A new director general of the agency has been appointed. His name is Bashir Jamoh from Kaduna State, apart from being a northerner he is also a Muslim, the religion most observers of the political spaces and policies of the present administration have come to realize dominates the Buhari government.
Bashir Jamoh is also said to be the president in law. Bashir Y. Jamoh (Ph.D.) has over 25 years of public service experience. He has served in Various government agencies both at the state and federal levels. Dr.Jamoh until his appointment was the Assistant Director in charge of Training and Development. He is privileged to have worked in the operations and administrative department of NIMASA at the management level.
It is so evident that professionally Dr. Jamoh is very vast and experienced in maritime logistics and transport both locally and internationally because of his educational attainment and scope of work within the spheres and limits of what the Maritime agency stands for.
Little wonder he was chosen to steer the ship of the federal agency in place of Dakuku a southerner. Though no one can say expressly if there may be any other professionally experienced person that could pull the kind of expertise and wealth of capabilities that Bashir possesses.
The coming days will prove otherwise after the new appointee of the government kick-starts his official duties.
